Who are we? We are a community of women who gather in thousands of ELCA congregations across the United States and the Caribbean to grow in faith and live out our faith through ministry and action.
We are also a part of the Sierra Pacific Synod WELCA and the Conference 9 annual springtime gathering of women. Mary Ann Dews and Tamra Thompson represent us on these boards.
Our Purpose
As a community of women created in the image of God, called to discipleship in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves to grow in faith, affirm our gifts, support one another in our callings, engage in ministry and action, and promote healing and wholeness in the church, in society, and the world.
Our Outreach Ministries
Fifteen complete layettes are prepared and given each month to the Fresno County Health Nurses for delivery into the homes of needy Fresno families. Quilts are made on a regular basis and distributed each year to various ministries. In 2024, we are training a new group of quilters and having a great time of fellowship. Currently, we are producing two quilts per month, meeting the 4th Thursday each month at 9:30 a.m. Interested women are
welcome to join us.
We regularly support Lutheran Campus Ministry financially and provide hygiene items and bathroom tissue to their Bulldog Pantry. We recently provided $1,000 for support of the Rodriquez family in Sacramento, a part of the Synod WELCA’s resettlement of a family from Honduras. Other groups which we support periodically are: Mt. Cross Bible Camp, Fuente de Gracia in Sanger, Mission Esperanza at Our Saviour Lutheran Church, Lutheran Social Services, Lutheran Disaster Response, and others.
Our Circles
Our women meet monthly in small “circle” groups for fellowship, Bible study, and service.
